SUS (The Southern University System) is a system of public historically black universities in the U.S. state of Louisiana. Its headquarters are at the Joseph Samuel Clark Administration Building on the Southern University campus in Baton Rouge.

The new SU System Moodle offers students similar academic experiences regardless of campus and promotes increased interaction among the faculty ranks across SU System.
Southern University System Moodle Login
To login to SUS Moodle you will need Southern University System username and password so you should get it from Southern University System and you can login to SUS Moodle or get access to SUS Moodle by following the steps given below.

mySUlogin is your new Single Sign-On (SSO) credential for the Moodle Consolidated. It can also be used to sign into the BannerSUnited system, and soon will be extended to other applications system-wide.
- The format is as follows:
– Username: firstname.lastname@sus.edu
– Password: brow1234
Your password is the first 4 characters of your last name and the last four digits of your U-number. If you need assistance with your login, please contact your campus’ IT Help Desk for the correct username.
How to Send an email to a professor or student via SUS Moodle ?
These two ways can be accomplished emailing a professor or student through SUS Moodle.
You can send an email to a professor or student by clicking on that person’s name in the Participants listing.
Send a message: Click Messages under the profile picture. Type in the user’s name. Type your message and press Send.

Moodle allows the sharing of information using various features provided by the activities and resources tools. - Communication
Moodle allows for students and instructors can have synchronous or asynchronous discussions by using Chat, Forums, or Wiki. - Collaboration
Students and Instructors can collaborate on class discussions, assignments, projects using Glossary, Database, or Wiki, etc.. - Assessment
- Instructors can assess their students using the various features (Quiz, Assignments, Lesson, Workshop, Forums, etc.) features provided in Moodle.
How to Backup a SUS Moodle Course ?
- Login to Southern University System Moodle.
- Click on the course you would like to Backup, From the Administration block, click Backup.
- Backup Settings are listed and you make sure to uncheck the box for enrolled users.
- You do not want to bring over students and their work and you are only backing up the content.
- Once done, there are two ways you can backup:
– Click on Jump to final step.
– Click on Next. - Option A: Jump to final step:
– After, click on jump to final step and this will perform the backup.
– Once the green bar appears saying ‘The backup file was successfully created’ you may click continue.
– The next screen that appears will display user private backup area.
– You should see the course that was just backed up as an .mbz file.
– Click on download and save the file to your desired external device. - Option B: Click on Next:
– After click on next.
– The screen that appears allows you the option to deselect any content, activities or resources that you do not want to backup.
– Once done, click on next. - You will then see what will be backed up.
- Click on Perform Restore and this will perform the backup.
- Once the green bar appears saying ‘The backup file was successfully created’ you may click continue.
- The next screen that appears will display user private backup area.
- You should see the course that was just backed up as an .mbz file.
- Click on download and save the file to your desired external device.
How to Restore a SUS Moodle Course ?
- Login to SUS Moodle (https://moodle.sus.edu).
- Select the course you would like to add your course content.
- At the top Left you will see a gear icon, then click on this icon for Course Management.
- A Window will appear and under Course Settings click on Restore.
- Click on Restore.
- Click on the ‘Choose a File’ or drag and drop the course file in the dotted box.
- Select the file.
- Click ‘Upload this file’.
- Once the file has completed its upload. Click ‘Restore’.
- You will see a series of screens, starting with a verification of the items in your backup file.
- Scroll down and click Continue.
- Next screen says Restore as a new course.
- Scroll down to ‘Restore into this course’.
- Select ‘Merge the backup course into this course’ and click Continue or this process will merge all data in one course.
- Select ‘Delete the contents of this course and then restore’ and click Continue.
- Click Continue, this process will delete all of the data before restoring the new data.
- Restore Settings screen will display, then click on next.
- Course Settings Screen will display and scroll to the bottom and click Next.
- Backup Settings screen will display and scroll to the bottom and click Perform Restore, the Restore process will begin.
- Once the green bar appears saying ‘The backup file was successfully created’ you may click continue.
