What is KOI ?
KOI (King’s Own Institute) is a leading private higher education institution located in central Sydney and offers high quality accredited diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses. What is KOI Moodle?
KOI Moodle course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and graduate attributes of communication, information and technological skills, critical thinking and creative skills, problem solving skills, ethical and cultural sensitivity, leadership, teamwork skills a lifelong learning philosophy and professional judgement.
Moodle KOI has yet to be estimated by Alexa in terms of traffic and rank. KOI Moodle has yet to increase its social media reach, as it is relatively low at the moment: 1 Google+ vote. There is still a lack of data on the security and reputation of this domain, so you should be very careful while browsing.

These marks will also be available through the Moodle e-learning student portal Koi during each quarter. Your final letter grades will be available on the student portal koi login. They can be located under Current Student menu on KOI’s website.

If this is your first time accessing the KOI Moodle site, use the default login details below:
- First Visit this link moodle.koi.edu.au login.
- Enter your Username and Password in the field.
- Click on the ‘Login’ button.
Is this your first time here?
You can use the username and password provided here to login to KOI Moodle or koi.edu.au moodle.
- Username: 8 digit KOI student ID (numbers only, for example,20201234)
- Password: KOI# followed by your 8 digit date of birth (for example, KOI#01022000, if born on 1st Feb 2000)
You may be required to change your default password when logging into Moodle for the first time. This change would apply to your Moodle account only. The new password has to be at least eight characters long, contain one capital letter, one lower case letter, and one number.

Forgotten or Reset KOI Moodle – E-Learning Password
To reset your password, submit your username or your email address below. If KOI Moodle can find you in the database, an email will be sent to your email address, with instructions how to get access again.
- Go to moodle.koi.edu.au/forgot_password link.
- If you want to reset the password via Username, enter the Username used when logging in to your KOI Moodle in the Username field.
- Then click on the ‘Search’ option.
- If you want to reset the password via Email Address, enter the email used when logging in to your KOI Moodle in the field.
- Then click on the ‘Search’ option.
Change KOI password while logged into koi.moodle
After your first sign-in Moodle will ask you to change your password. This will change your password for Moodle ONLY. Your new password must be at least eight characters long, containing a capital letter, a lower case letter, and a number.
You should be able to change your password when you log in to Moodle. To do so just:
- Click on the picture profile.
- Select Preferences.
- Click on ‘Change Password’.
- Enter a new password and save.
How to access KOI Student Portal ?
- Visit KOI Student Portal (https://students.koi.edu.au).
- Your ID is your student ID (an 8 digit number).
- Your default password is KOI# plus your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format (KOI#DDMMYYYY), For example, if date of birth is 03/12/1995, the default password will be KOI#03121995.
Forgot Password
Students can reset their password for the student portal at any time by clicking ‘Forgot Password’.
The temporary password will be delivered to your KOI student email.
Go back to the KOI Student Portal, enter your student numbers for the user ID and enter the temporary password. (If your temporary password is (3A$1bec), enter 3A$1bec ONLY).
How to access KOI Moodle on the Mobile App?
There is a Moodle app available that students can use on their iPhone device, iPad device or Android device. Apps are available in Google Play and also Apple Store. You can install the app directly from your mobile device – Search for ‘Moodle Mobile’ The author / owner must be ‘Moodle PT Limited’.
After opening the application the student will be asked to provide the URL for the KOI moodle. The address to input is: moodle.koi.edu.au/moodle.
Then just sign in with your username and password.
KOI Moodle Mobile App for iPhone Device
The official KOI e-learning Moodle mobile app for the iPhone is now available for download (for free) from the Apple Play Store online store. Mobile app features include:
- A record audio function with option to upload to your private files area in Moodle.
- List of participants in your courses with modal messaging options.
- Add a note to your mobile address book or add user contact details.
- Offline mode with automatically synchronization when you are next.

Australian Government’s Graduate Outcome Survey
KOI is taking part in the Australian Government’s Graduate Survey (GOS) conducted by the Center for Social Research. KOI graduates who complete their studies in November 2020 may be invited to participate in the survey by email with a username and password.

How to submit assignments in KOI moodle Turnitin?
Students can view the Student User Manual from the Turnitin KOI Moodle Assignment block on the right side of the KOI Moodle homepage for advice on submitting assignments in Turnitin.
- When submitting an assignment, students need to click on the link to their assignment and then go to the ‘My Submissions’ tab.
- From here they can upload their assignments.
- Students need to remember to read and tick the announcement box before the presentation and make sure they have uploaded the appropriate file before submitting the assignment.

Library Catalogue
How to find the Library catalogue:
The Library catalogue or My Library can be found on the KOI website under the Current Students tab. Links are also available under the list of Online Resources that can be found on your course pages or in the top menu in the left side moodle under the library.
What do use the Library catalogue:
The library list is where you can find print books available in the library. The catalog also contains a number of downloadable ebook items.
You can also use the library catalog to check when the books you have borrowed are due, just sign in with your student ID number and date of birth password (ddmmyyyy).
How to search the Library catalogue:
To find the library catalog, you need to go to the catalog homepage from there, you should see the search bar, under the search bar, there are many categories that will help to narrow down your search. - When searching for a book there will be a number listed, this is the classification for the book. You can use this number to locate the book in the library.

How to find KOI Moodle courses timetable ?
To find your personal schedule, login to the student portal and click on the ‘Academics’ menu on the left side of the page then go to ‘My Schedule’. A copy of your timetable should appear, to print your timetable, click ‘Print Timetable’ button then pdf file will be saved in the Download folder.
Check KOI grade
- Login to Student Portal (students.koi.edu.au) left hand side of the page, Click Grade.
- Click Course name from Course list.
- You should be able to see your grades on the bottom.
You cannot see the Grade, What should do?
- Please check release date of Final Grade.
- Please check your outstanding balance (if there is outstanding balance you could not access to Grade menu with error message).
- You check whether you have clicked Course name on Grade page.

How to find journal articles for assessment tasks moodle ?
Peer-reviewed academic journals and guide are available to all KOI students on EBSCO databases via KOI moodle.
You can access EBSCO through moodle in the Online Resources list that can be found on your course pages or in the Library Online Resources block this block is available on all pages in moodle and is generally located on the right hand side of the screen under the moodle help desk block.
Education Resource is designed to meet the needs of students, professionals and policy makers. The collection provides indexing and abstracts for more than 2,850 academic periodicals and includes full text for more than 1,800 journals, 550 books and monographs, education-related conference papers, citations for over 4M introdactions including book reviews and over 100,000 controlled and cross-referenced names of educational tests. Coverage in Education Source spans all levels of education includes educational specialties such as multilingual education, health education and testing.

EBSCO databases is a premium online information resource that provides access to the scholarly educational database Educational Source.
How to search EBSCO?
There are an extensive number of available on EBSCO covering a varying degree of topics. To narrow down your search it is best to use the Advanced Search option.
Some search tips for using the advance search option to locate guide specific to your assignment are:
- Select key words for you assignment.
- Use subject Terms so your search is more relevant.
- Also you can choose Geographic Terms if you want to limit your results to a particular country.
- If you need to you can add more search boxes to narrow down your search.

I reset my Moodle password, but still haven’t received an email yet?
Reset information for your Moodle password is sent to your student email account, check the tab above labeled ‘KOI Email Services’ for information on accessing a student email account. It may take up to at least 15 minutes for the email to arrive.
If you still can’t access Moodle, please contact the Library Team (library@koi.edu.au) with your student email.
How do I print my course notes?
To print your course notes you need to download your course notes from Moodle. You need to save these files to the computer. You then need to send the document to the print publishing station to get rid of the printing job from there.
Where can I find Assignment coversheets?
Printable copies of the Assignment Coversheets can be found on the Moodle in the Assignment Coversheet block to the right of the screen. Students can also get pre-printed copies from the library counter.
Why can’t I get my assignment to upload?
Students need to make sure that the document they are submitting is one of the accepted documents in the Student User Manual. Even documents files larger than 5MB will not be able to be uploaded.
