When you click a link on a unit, the home page of the unit will be displayed. The site title will be at the top of the page. The table of contents will be on the left hand side.
The unit may be organised in weekly or topic format. You can navigate to any section, by clicking on the items in the table of contents. The content of the section will be displayed at the Page Content.

Start with Virtual Classrooms (Using Zoom) in Melbourne Polytechnic Moodle

Joining a live virtual classroom
- Login to Melbourne Polytechnic Moodle site and Click on your Subject.
- In the Classroom section of your site, click on the ‘Virtual Classroom’ to join a meeting.

- Click on Join with Computer Audio.

- You are now successfully connected to Virtual Classroom or live session.
- Once you join the live session, you can turn the mic and video on/off using the buttons in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

- First Sign in Microsoft Office 365 on your devices.

- Microsoft Teams icon will appear in your desktop.
- Sign in with your student ID.
- Now you will see your teams and site options accordingly.
Communication with classmates and teacher
- Enter teacher’s name or student’s ID in the search bar. You can start a chat, as well as a group chat in the chat room.
- You can also start Video meeting, Voice call and Screen sharing with the chat members.
- Files will be stored in the Teams site, can be found in Files section.
- Screen sharing option is limited in web version. If you wish to use the screen sharing/control option, change it to Desktop app.
How to Submit an Assigntment in Melbourne Polytechnic Moodle?
There are four ways that an assignment can be submitted. These are described step by step in the document.

File Submission
- Click on the assignment link.
- Click on the ‘Add submission’ button.
- Select one of the following options:
– Drag and drop:
1. Have two windows open. Select the file that you want and drop it in the ‘You can drag.

3. Click ‘Save changes’.
– Use the file picker:
1. Click ‘Add’ button.

- Click ’Continue’.
- You will see ‘Submitted for grading’ option when you have submitted successfully.
Online text Submission
- Click on the assignment link.
- Click on the ‘Add submission’ button.
- Type in your online text and click ‘Save changes’.
- Read the declaration and click on the checkbox.
- Click ’Continue’.
- You will see ‘Submitted for grading’ option when you have submitted successfully.
Video Submission
- Click on the assignment link.
- Click on the ‘Add submission’ button.
- Choose on the ‘Embed Media’ button.
- A pop up window will appear and click ‘Add New’’ button.
- Select one of the methods to upload your submission.
- Read the declaration and click on the checkbox.
- Click ‘Save and Embed’.
- Click ‘the ‘Embed’ button.
- Select on the ‘Save changes’ button.

- You will see ‘Submitted for grading’ option when you have submitted successfully.
Re-submitting an assignment
If you are given another attempt at your assessment, you can select either:
- Add a new attempt (a new blank submission).
- Add a new attempt based on previous submission (contents of your previous submission are copied to a new submission).
You will select ‘Add a new attempt’ and upload your new file generally. If your submission contained multiple files and you have been asked to provide additional file then the Add a new attempt based on previous submission could be used. It will pre-load all the original files into your new submission so you only need to add the extra file.
