What is SRUC ?
SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is a public research institution focused on higher education, consulting and research in agriculture and life sciences study. The institution’s history stretches back to 1899 with the establishment of the West of Scotland Agricultural College and its current organisation came into being through a merger of smaller land based colleges.
After the West of Scotland Agricultural College was established in 1899, the Edinburgh and East of Scotland College of Agriculture and the Aberdeen and North of Scotland College of Agriculture were both established in the early 20th century.

SRUC Moodle 2020-21 Archive
Login to the SRUC Moodle 2020-21 Archive using your SRUC login credentials.
This is where students will find digital activities and resources for their courses who studied at SRUC last 2020-21 academic year.
Last academic year’s students will also be able to access their assignment submissions and any online tests taken, including results, grades and feedback for the 2020-21 academic year.

SRUC Training Moodle Account Guide
This document will help you to create an account for the SRUC Training moodle and access the Preparing to Study at SRUC age.
- Step 1
The SRUC Moodle you need to access is the Training Moodle. On the login page select the Create new account button, it is best to access the course on Google Chrome. - Step 2
Complete the fields in the new account form then select the Create my new account button. - Step 3
You will then be sent an email from SRUC Online Training with your account confirmation to the email address you provided.
Step 4
Select the link contained in this email to confirm your new account.
This will take you into the Training Moodle. Select the Continue button on the screen. - Step 5
Select the Site home link in the left-hand side navigation bar. - Step 6
Now select the SRUC Students link.6. Select the Preparing to Study at SRUC course. - Step 7
Select the Enrol me button to enrol into this course area to access the resources.
Accessing this course area later
Now that you are enrolled this course area it will display on the Dashboard page of the Training Moodle. Dashboard is the page you see when you log in. It can also be accessed by selecting Dashboard from the navigation panel. The Preparing to Study at SRUC is shown in My courses at the top right as well as under Recently accessed courses and Course overview.

Training courses
SRUC’s training service offers a wide range of training and skills development courses to meet the needs of the land-based workforce across Scotland’s Rural College and the rest of the UK.
Veterinary CPD courses
They provide a high standard of CPD for farm animal veterinary surgeons offering in-depth knowledge of particular veterinary topics in the form of one or two day courses, evening courses and online modules and talks.
The online CPD platform provides a supportive distance learning and teaching environment that allows veterinary practitioners to access recorded talks on a variety of veterinary subjects.
ATV training course
This ATV training course is designed for those who are required to ride a quad bike or an ATV as part of their regular duties. It is suitable for users in a range of industries and working environments such as agriculture, forestry, golf courses, leisure complexes, parks and gardens, outdoor shows and events.
The course can be delivered for either new or experienced operators. The new operator course is designed for people who have very little or no experience of operating this type of equipment.
Pesticide Training
SRUC offers a range of pesticide training courses leading to City & Guilds NPTC Certificate of Competence assessments for sprayer operators. These courses are relevant if you spray or store chemicals as part of your job role and are suitable across a wide range of land-based industries.
