Forth Valley College is a college of further education located in Scotland. It operates from three main campuses in Falkirk, Alloa and Stirling. Within Stirling there is also a local community campus in the Raploch area of the city.

Forth Vally College Moodle is the College’s Virtual Learning and Teaching Environment Course. As a Forth Vally College Student, you will use Forth Vally Moodle to undertake online courses, upload assessments, see grades, and gather feedback and access learning materials.
It will play a key role throughout your studies, so please ensure that you activate your College IT account to access Forth Vally College Moodle.

To login to Forth Vally College Moodle you will need Forth Vally College username and password, so you can login to Forth Vally College Moodle by following the steps given below:

Every Forth Valley College learner automatically has a college email account. This saves you having to use your personal email account for college business, such as contacting your lecturer or submitting work. It is also easier for lecturers to contact their groups of learners through the college email, so it is well worth using it.
You can just click on ‘Check my email’ in the top right hand corner of the Moodle home page. Your email address is your student ID number, followed by @learn.forthvalley.ac.uk and your network password.
Forgot or Reset Forth Vally College Moodle Password
If you enter your password wrongly three times, unfortunately you will be locked out of your college account. Please try to avoid this by carefully remembering your password.
In College : If you are locked out of a college PC, then any member of college staff can reset your password for you, so that you can choose a new one when you first logon.
Outside College : If you are trying to log onto Forth Vally College Moodle from outside college and are locked out, please click on the ‘Forgotten your username and password’ link undler the password box. This will send an e-mail to your e-mail address you resgistered with the college on your application form.

If you have forgotten your username or password, enter the primary email address listed in your profile and Forth Vally College send you a message you can use to give yourself a new password.
If you know your username and have forgotten your password, you can also enter your username instead.

Your User Name for college systems is your Student Reference (ID) number (a six digit number), which you will find on all the correspondence you have had from the college and also on your student card, when you receive it. Forth Valley College Moodle Bar launch at the Alloa Campus
Staff and students will now be able to hone their online learning skills with the launch of the new Moodle Bar at Forth Valley College’s Alloa Campus.
Andrew Lawson, FVC’s Depute Principal, Fiona Brown, Vice Principal Learning and Teaching and Helen Young, Head of Learning and Quality officially launched the new service on Friday 25 May.
The Moodle Bar was the winning idea for promoting creative learning and teaching in the ‘Dragons’ Den’ competition at the Creative Learning Conference in August 2017.
In addition, the smaller campus will allow members of the project team to monitor and encourage the use of the Moodle Bar and will utilise the expertise of Learning Technology Coordinator Jasmin Hodge.
Moodle shortlisted for award – Forth Valley College IT Systems
Forth Vally College Moodle has been shortlisted for a prestigious sparqs Student Engagement award.
Forth Valley College’s virtual learning environment has been nominated in Category 2 which focusses on An initiative led by a Student Association Partnership with their college which has made the most impact on the enhancement of the student experience.
The collaboration between the Moodle team and the student association began during Class rep training. The Moodle team created a road map of where Moodle was and where it had to be to meet the needs of students in the current climate of technology.
All routes led to a change to the Moodle theme and a new Moodle framework which has now been implemented. The final decision for this was voted for by the students themselves.

Forth Valley College IT Systems Services
The Learning Resource Centres are available to students but with reduced numbers due to physical distancing requirements on some of the campuses. Students should be advised that access to IT facilities and study areas will be on an appointment basis.
For students requiring to borrow a book, they should be directed to browse the online catalogue in the first instance and then order the book via a click and collect service. A drop off area has been set up on each campus for books being returned.

Will I need to re-submit my bursary application?
You will need to re-submit your bursary application for Maintenance, Travel, Housing & Childcare. These funds are means-tested and the College will need to check if any of your circumstances have changed since you applied previously. The bursary application site should be available by the end of June 2021.
Would it be possible to defer my submitted application to 22/23?
No, you will need to re-apply via the College website when applications for session 2022/23 open in late October 2021.
